Can Apple Music replace my existing library music with superior quality?
How do new lossless releases of albums affect my existing MP3 collection? I own the entire Apple ecosystem + services (including Apple Music and iTunes Match). I can see Tool albums that I've had for more than a decade in 320kbps MP3. But now they're available on Apple Music in lossless. Should I delete my Tool albums out of my library? Can I then replace them with lossless? Will they load onto my Apple Watch for workouts? Will they load onto my iPod Classic? I have a horrible feeling that the answer is I can delete and replace them with the new lossless versions for my iPhone/Watch/Mac... ...but will then be unable to play them on my iPod Classic. So then what? I guess I finally drop the nostaliga, sell the iPod and accept 100% rental. submitted by /u/alexnapierholland [link] [comments]

I have a syncing issue across devices. Please Help.
I recently decided to redo my Apple Music library considering my taste in music has changed considerably in the last decade. I deleted all my music on my MacBook Pro from my library, I have no purchased music. I have sync on for all devices, apps, data, iCloud etc. When I open Apple Music on iPhone all the music is still populating. I turn sync on and off and it still populates. I even force synced on my Mac and instead of it updating my empty library to the cloud, it pulled all the music back onto my Mac. How do I resolve this? submitted by /u/Rickety-Cricket87 [link] [comments]

Sharing Apple Music Library with family members
I'd like to share my Apple Music Library with a family member who is on my Family Plan. My son wants access to my library for use through his iPad, since I have lots of non-Apple Music live concert content that are synced to my Apple Music account. I think this is possible through Home Sharing but only if my laptop is currently on, which is not ideal. Any ideas about how to get this to work? Thank you!! submitted by /u/LasWages [link] [comments]

Moving to Spotify and then back to Apple Music to preserve library when changing regions. Have you done this?
I'm a long time Apple Music user and need to change my region from US to UK because I want to start sharing Apple services with my partner here. I've read all about how this generally means losing my Apple Music library. One solution that I'm considering is copying my library to Spotify using SongShift and then once I've changed regions, using SongShift again to copy the music back, given there are no restrictions that keep me from copying. Edit: another solution that I'm now considering is using Soundiiz per suggestion below. So my question is this: has anyone done this successfully? Anything I should consider before trying this? Also, 95% of my library is composed of Apple Music songs, but I do have about 500 songs not available on Apple Music that I need to manually saved before deleting my old library. I've figured out how to create a smart playlist with these songs and just discovered that I can simply drag and drop these songs in a Finder folder to save them. submitted by /u/joshuakaufman [link] [comments]

Dealing with new Music app in Monterey.
Im a bit rusty with this stuff to begin with and then got a new Mac to replace a tired windows 8 laptop. Mac OS was on Catalina when I got my computer. IIRC iTunes behaved as it always did on windows. I copied all my music onto the Mac from my back up external drive, fixed all the tags, album art etc. I dont think I ever synced with the Apple Music subscription when I got it for free after a new phone, but currently all that is on my phone is stuff I bought, and nothing I had ripped or otherwise obtained. There are two iTunes library files on my computer, one dating from when I did what I just described and a second one that appeared to be identical to whats on my phone. What Id like to do is have all my music thats on the Mac be in my library and then pick and chose what goes on the phone. Ive no need to play music from my iPads so I dont even have the app on them. If I were to delete the library Monterey created and tell music to open the old one from Big Sur and point it to my Music folder should this work? I think music got synced by accident. Probably because I was not aware of the implications. submitted by /u/Powerful-Size-1444 [link] [comments]

Apple Music internationalization problems
I got a Homepod Mini for christmas, and with it an Apple Music subscription. I wanted to replace Alexa with it, but after 2 weeks, I've canceled the Apple Music subscription and returned the Homepod Mini. The main two problems of the Homepod Mini are that it is only tightly integrated with Apple Music, and Apple Music works very poorly internationally, at least in my region (central EU). By poorly I mean that Apple Music in the US and in the EU recommends you completely different music, e.g., in France it recommends you a lot of french music, even if you set the language to english. This is tied to your "App Store", and apple support told me I had two options: either switch the App Store to the US or UK appstores, which means I can't get mandatory national apps like for COVID certificates, etc. _or_ live with very poor quality recommendations of music that I don't like, in languages that I don't understand, etc. So I chose the third option: cancel subscription, send homepod mini back, and go back to Alexa which has tight integration with other Music services like Spotify and Soundcloud that don't have this problem. If you are thinking about getting Apple Music and or a Homepod outside the US, these types of issues might be important to you. I didn't found these documented anywhere. If you are an international Apple Music user, have you faced similar issues, and if so, how did you deal with them? submitted by /u/greppable777 [link] [comments]

Spotify vs Apple Music on Apple Watch
How can it be that Spotify is superior than Apple's native Music app when it comes to connectivity? I can play Spotify on my Airplay speakers through Spotify connect without the detour on the iPhone. Apple Music only finds Bluetooth speakers on the watch. I prefer the Music interface over Spotify's, but this is a dealbreaker. submitted by /u/ayvittu69 [link] [comments]

Disassociate AM account from my iTunes
Hi Squad, How do I go about disassociating my Apple Music account from my iTunes on my Mac which I still use as the library for digital music Ive purchased or copied into it? For context, I run DJing software and it reads from my iTunes library but itll often populate with tracks Ive added to my library from AM (although obviously not able to read them as DRM protected) so I have my DJ software (rekordbox) FULL of duplicates and unreadable files. Is it simply a case of logging out of my account in iTunes/music? I primarily use AM on mobile or Apple TV, not necessary on my MacBook at all. The duplicates issue annoyed me so much that I opened a Spotify account but ended up making a playlist in AM called tracks not on Spotify and no HD listening over there either means Id rather stay here but just separate my iTunes library from my AM library. Cheers! submitted by /u/JamTheJampot [link] [comments]

Is there any way to save an Apple Music Radio episode for later listening?
As title reads. I'd like to save Apple Music Radio episodes to my library so I can remember to go listen to them. I often will not have the time to listen when I see an episode I want to listen to, so instead I forget about it and never listen to it because I can't seem to save them to my library or any playlist etc. Does anyone have a way to achieve this? Apple Music Convert
When I switched cell phone providers this year I lost free Spotify access from a legacy plan, and switched to Apple Music since its free with Apple One. I hated it at first missed my playlists and the Spotify curated playlists that I had grown to love. A few months later I am totally converted. I feel like I am invested in music again after some great album recommendations instead of passively listening to the same feedback loop. I am discovering more music than I have in years. After this subs direction to love and add as much to my library as possible I think my schizophrenic taste has finally clicked with the algorithm, and when I opened the app today I wanted to play everything on the front page at once. The audio quality on Sonos is great, and I love the Spatial Audio and the ability to create music video playlists for my Apple TV. Where Spotify defaulted to commercial hits, Apple recommends independent and experimental artists alongside more mainstream options. I love the long descriptions for albums and artists, which reminds me of when DJs would actually talk about music and provide context instead of voicing over ads. I really enjoy the look and feel as well, the album art is gorgeous at high res and I love that it is shown even in the recommendations at the bottom of a playlist / album. Really happy that I made the leap. If you guys have any other suggestions for little-known hacks or features let me know! submitted by /u/lianehunter [link] [comments]

Apple Music Library
Hello everyone, I'm not sure if there's a post for this already, but I am having trouble adding songs to my library. I have added a bunch of playlists and the library does update with songs, but there are so many songs that do not even pop up. I tried deleting and re-adding a playlist, but the songs are still not in the "Songs" section of the library. There is an Apple support thread with a similar issue that recommends turning syncing off and on, but this did not help. Does anyone have a similar problem or know how to add all playlists to the library? Thanks! submitted by /u/Jammer21416 [link] [comments]

Listening to a song bought off iTunes on Android?
Hello, I have recently listened to a song on YouTube that I wanted to also get on my Android phone (I don't have any Apple products), and since I didn't want to pirate it, to support the author I downloaded iTunes on my Windows PC and bought the song after signing in with my Apple ID (that doesn't have any Apple products). I have now learned that iTunes is not available on Android, but Apple Music is. However, when I sign in to Apple Music and go to Library to try and access the song I bought on iTunes, it says I have to subscribe for a monthly service. I manually searched for that song via Apple Music, and it finds it, but then it tells me I can either subscribe for monthly plan or try for free for 3 months to play that song. However, I have already bought it, so I am not sure why a monthly subscription is required to play the song I own. Is there a way to listen to the song I bought, on Android, without any monthly subscription fees? submitted by /u/DeMarioZ [link] [comments]

Adding Songs to Playlists is WAY Over Complicated
Recently trying things out and coming from Spotify, I am often confused why Apple has made this whole experience complicated. One of my biggest questions is why I need to "Add to Library" before I "Add to Playlist"? Can someone explain this? What does "Add to Library" do? Along with this, why Apple has decided to deliver a different experience in Apple music in MacOS is bonkers as well. submitted by /u/iledeli [link] [comments]

Changing accounts on iPhone causes problems!
Not sure if this is the place to post this. I have 2 Apple TV accounts on my iPhone if I switch from my main account which is my main Apple ID, to my other account a lot of other stuff on the phone is affected by this. Music being a big one. All my musics gone. To get it back i have to log back in as my main account on Apple TV, then it has to rest close my library, get the covers again etc. Why cant they keep this as a seperate thing? If I switch profiles on Netflix it doesnt interfere with a million other things! submitted by /u/Jambomakaveli [link] [comments]

Remove album from library removes songs from playlist ? WTF Apple Music?
I am giving AM another go after a very long time and trying to learn my way around the platform. One thing that i have noticed and i hope that I am doing something wrong is that AM deletes playlist songs when i remove an album from my library. For example i put a couple of songs from an album in a playlist and then i put that album on my library. I give that album a listen and if i dont like it I remove it. As soon as i remove it the app removes the two songs that i like and have them on a playlist. Is this the case or I am doing something wrong? Note: I just save the albums i dont download them for offline listening. Just save them for streaming purposes only. Same with my playlist. Thanks submitted by /u/questna [link] [comments]

Apple Music stuttering and skipping on iOS 15.2
Hey guys, anyone else noticing an increase in stuttering in iOS 15.2? Im using an iPhone 11 Pro Max and never had any issues with Apple Music streaming before ( besides airplay ) but today I had two different occasions of it straight up bugging out. First I was using Apple Music in my car, connected to wired CarPlay and the song suddenly started going all staticky and started making this scratchy noise for a few seconds before skipping forward to the next song. This has never happened before. Sure it has buffered and skipped songs but never played a deafening robotic sound through the speakers. I put it down to the connection and forgot about it. Next up at home, on a high speed wifi connection, another song started to cut out and get distorted whilst listening on my AirPods Pro. Never happened before too. This wasnt the same as the static and robotic thing in the car, but it kept skipping nonstop, getting so distorted like I was a mile away from the phone when it was actually right in front of my face Anyone else experiencing these types of issues recently? How am I to trust apple if they cant even make their most famous application work lmao I hate this submitted by /u/applepoople [link] [comments]
