|Career change to Sustainability from SCM? |
Since high school Ive always been interested in supply chain, I choose my college based on their SCOM degree and have been in the field now for 7+ years my jobs have included procurement, inventory analysis, warehouse supervising and currently in central supply planning. Im now starting to really feel the need to have more meaning/purpose in my work and want to do something with a sustainability field. I feel lost on the best way to transition to this and was hoping someone on here has been through this already. Does anyone have experience with transition from the supply chain field to sustainability? Did that include going back to school or were you able to use experiences from SCM (like project management, tableau and excel analysis) to get a job? What is a realistic job that I could expect to apply for based on my current experience and also if I went back to school for either a bachelor or masters in sustainability (not even sure if that is possible based on my degree) submitted by /u/Wheresthewald [link] [comments]

|Sponsor question |
My main interest is learning about land and I will be working upstate NY. I have a high paying full time job that I love and do not want to change careers. I am interested in learning about RE slowly, on my own time. I am willing to show properties and do grunt work on weekends and nights (time permitting). Will it be impossible to find a broker to sponsor me? Any advice? I know RE is a career and a serious profession and I do not want to seem like I am disrespecting it by learning slowly and part time. I do not want to leave my job, but I have a burning desire to learn as much as I can about RE. Is it possible to learn this way? How should I go about finding a sponsor under these circumstances? |Career Advancement - Relocate to RTP or Boston? |
Hi all, Im on a job search to relocate to advance my career. I work for large pharma and specialize in DP Validation and Tech Transfers. Masters with 9 years experience with 5 yrs managing a team of 5-10 individual contributors. Been looking at jobs and it seems the best opportunities for associate director roles are in Boston since so many HQs are there. The research triangle is attractive as they have a lot of manufacturing facilities there. When looking at weather and housing, RTP is far more attractive, but I see more senior manager roles. What is everyones opinion on career advancement in these two hubs? Im looking to work my way up to senior director. Is my assumption correct that I have two options. Take a senior manager role in RTP and with the better standard of living or grind it out in a small Boston condo but advance more quickly? Also, Im open to SSF but it seems like a 3rd option cause I would have to commute 1.5-2 hours away and live in a small 900sq ft condo built in the 90s Thanks. submitted by /u/Individual-Dust-9456 [link] [comments]
