How does everyone feel about Quantumscape (QS) now?
As we all saw today, QS slid about 12% today because of the Scorpion report. Personally, I think the report is a load of bs and was written so Scorpion can make large profits on shorts. I mean, they did not even name their "experts" and only used statements of former employees, meaning their information is outdated or if they were kicked out then they may lie and give scathing testimonies. And did anyone see Kir Kahlon's interview with Melissa Lee today? Oh my god, don't even get me started on that.... Anyways, what do you all think of QS, will we see a bearish day tomorrow, or will we see them come back up? I think they may come back up PS - curse you Scorpion Capital! Thanks for the 6k loss today... Disclaimer: I own 1000 shares of QS @ 41.73 submitted by /u/Turbulent-Buttons [link] [comments]

If I made a profit why do I feel like a loser?
So I started with 3 grand, I lost about a grand due to bad investment. This morning I was up 5200 dollars, and now I'm at 4.9k, my question is why do I feel like a loser if I made nearly 2 grand in the past week? I genuinely do not know why I feel like I have lost everything. submitted by /u/icweiners69 [link] [comments]

The real rotation is from feel-good stocks to feel-bad stocks
I cringe every time I read that were in a rotation from growth to cyclical or from lockdown to reopening stocks. Those narratives would suggest that restaurants, hotels, airlines, and auto manufacturers are all flying high right now. The problem is, none of it is true. Since February Tripadvisor, Expedia, and Booking are flat Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt are flat Ford, GM, and Toyota are flat Restaurants are mixed Airlines are down The real rotation isnt toward any of that. If you put conventional labels aside, this is really a rotation from feel-good stocks to feel-bad stocks. Since February, anything young people actually want to invest in has been annihilated: technology, e-commerce, semiconductors, renewable energy, cannabis, disruptive tech, EVs, and so on. Even if you exclude all the speculation and only include profitable, well-established companies, this is still very much the case. What has done well? Energy, financials, materials, and industrials. In other words, dirty money. Gas and oil = drivers of climate change, financials = sharky capitalism, industrials and materials = environmental degradation and warfare. It's almost like the more nefarious the business model is, the better! (Lockheed is up 16% since March 1. Northrop is up over 25%. Feels bad.) Now, I know what some of you are thinking some version of the stock market isnt the place to change the world. I'm just making an observation. Its kind of a if you cant beat em, do you join em? moment. Will this rotation be a short-term blip or a long drawn out shift away from feel-good investing? submitted by /u/MinnesotaPower [link] [comments]

Why don't most people report April?
title says is. If they know that april is the best month for stocks, between April and May, why don't a lot of companies pile into April and ride the wave? That way, they don't announce earnings when it's crappy like the beginning of May? I feel like all these companies are getting unfairly hit because "April" is the month to buy and "May" is the month to sell. All tech starting in May is getting hammered, when I feel there's nothing that changed from Friday to Today. Big players control narrative, so it scared maybe one financial firm to start a sell off? submitted by /u/lilaznjocky [link] [comments]

Stock buying strategy?
I'm just curious what everyone's strategy is. I only have about 3k invested. I started by picking 10 or 12 stocks. At first I was picking good dividend stocks then I changed my mind to just strong blue chip stocks that I thought would have steady growth. Every 2 weeks I put 200 into my account and buy some of those I picked. I have no real rhyme or reason. Im up 10% in 3 months buy feel like I got lucky. I don't plan on selling anything anytime soon and then doubt myself because I feel like I should take profits. How do you all decide what to buy? How do you decide to sell? I had no plan when I bought and everyone always answers "follow your original plan". TIA submitted by /u/buyselltradeNJ [link] [comments]

A Modest Defense of Overreactions
Ok. I (and everyone here by now) knows that these are relatively small drops and understandable after such a historic bull market. But a lot of us just started investing in February after meme stocks got us interested. And a lot of people here and elsewhere said "time in the market beats timing the market." So we, not knowing what we were doing, invested at the top. And now, when the market is going down, we're going red. Because, unlike many of you, we didn't get all the massive gains. So you're going from +50% to +40% and we're going -10% to -20%. I'm not trying to say we're blameless- I definitely put in too much money to start off with when I didn't know what I was doing [not even on memes, just bought high valuations]. Not trying to absolve responsibility here. But also, I do think the smug attitudes and "wHaT ArE YoU GUyS InVEStEd In?!" is a bit much. We get it. We made some mistakes. I, at least, even appreciate the warnings about planning how we'd feel if it drops a lot more and what we'll do. But I also think it's ok to feel scared and sad about losing money without getting so much attitude. submitted by /u/HonestlyDontKnow24 [link] [comments]

Anyone else fight toxic feelings after a great green day?
To preface, I started learning about trading about 7-8 months ago and have been learning non stop. Highs and lows. I realized I began to over complicate it all as a lot of newbies tend to do. Charting software gets cluttered with indicators, etc. To summarize, Im finding some consistency but for some reason I feel like Im not allowed to feel good about it. Reflecting back on most of my trades in my limited experience, I see how so many of them were luck and chance. But now Im finding some success with actual technical analysis and experience. The strong majority of my recent trades have been ones where I did DD, looked thoroughly at the charts and patterns, direction, news, etc. I was right on them and I know the reason I was right was because I took time on them and did my research. Never have I truly done that before until now. But I cant shake this feeling of it being just luck. Am I the only one? Or in the minority with this or has anyone else gone through this before? submitted by /u/p1tchb1ack [link] [comments]
