Pin for buying ticket at Tokyo vending machine or ticket office
Hi all Planned to travel to tokyo and purchase a JR wide pass. Since I will be using my USAA and wells fargo (will bring other banks card too just in case). Just wanna know what is the PIN I needed to enter (at vending machine or ticket office when they asked for a PIN). I called both banks and they told me no pin, but seem like the machine and ticket office both required a pin to buy the ticket. Please help and thanks. submitted by /u/justandyL [link] [comments]

Feedback on weekly investment strategy (Goal: Retirement in 20-25 years, Invested In: After-Tax Brokerage)
My goal is to build towards my retirement goals and so I am looking at my investment over a period of 20-25 years (I am currently 37). These investments are made weekly in my after-tax brokerage accounts: VOO 53% (To get broad exposure to S&P500) VUG 27% (To get exposure to large cap growth but I know there is overlap between VOO and VUG) VXUS 5% (To get some exposure to Ex-US market) FLIN 5% (I am bullish on India) BND 10% (Following 90/10 rule but BND has underperformed recently) How would you recommend changing this? Anything that I should add/remove? Am I too heavy on US equities? Some people have suggested 5% exposure to IBIT but I want to stay away from crypto ETFs due to volatility. submitted by /u/Bootkanp [link] [comments]

Can someone please explain to me why banks dont verify recipients on checks?
There's a business next to my office that received 5 of our checks (with recipient listed as me) over 3 months. The business owner wasnt paying attention and deposited it into his account. Later on he noticed that it was the wrong checks and notified me about it. The bank caught ZERO of these mistakes and is completely incapable of identifying who the proper recipient on a check is. When I called the bank they said "we don't have the manpower to verify check recipients unless the amount deposited is greater than $2000." BTW this is one of the largest banks in America, not some mom and pop shop. Are you freaking kidding me? This policy makes it stupid easy for people to steal checks from mailboxes, deposit it into their own account, with zero verification of intended recipient by the bank. Somebody please explain this to me. submitted by /u/Natural-Spell-515 [link] [comments]

Relativity of Time from an Observer Perspective
We have established that time is relative and goes slower for objects in motion and we have experimentally proven with the ISS. A thought experiment: What if the ISS was moving at much higher speeds, let's say fast enough for the time differential to become more noticeable. So say it travels at 99% of the speed of light around the earth for a given amount of time. Afterward, the crew will say for instance they spent let's say 1 year in space, and we on Earth will say it was 10 years, because on Earth 10 years passed and on board the ISS only 1 year passed. So far so good, my question is this: If the ISS crew kept on watching events on Earth through say a telescope or say they kept on receiving a TV signal to watch live TV events (let's ignore transmission issues for a moment and let's say they can receive the signal without too much trouble, just like any other place on earth). At what speed would these events go by? For instance, the US might have a new president by then, given that

I have a question. Were starting construction of a new company building at my office and we were looking into drones to do surveillance and inspection cause weve had issues in the past on our construction sites. Does anyone know of any drones that have a really long battery life and can be accessed remotely over the internet while also having a decent camera? Gas or battery powered. submitted by /u/redjoker89 [link] [comments]

PCP Continues to NOT submit my referrals and I keep getting bills due to Aetna failing to pay
Last year, I had an inconclusive mammogram, and my PCP referred me to get a second mammogram and ultrasound if that was still inconclusive. I had both done and thankfully, everything was okay. However, I was slapped with a 2,000+ bill from the care provider because Aetna wouldn't cover it due to "no referral." I went back and forth between my PCP's office and Aetna for over 8 months... my PCP said that "referrals are in the system, and it is fine, and we don't need to submit the referrals because they're in the system," and Aetna said, "There are no referrals and they need to submit them." I finally worked with a patient advocate for this year's mammogram (and ultrasound because it was likely I'd need to get one with my breast tissue as it is), and she assured me that they sent in the referrals to Aetna before my mammogram and ultrasound this time and all should be okay. They also comped my 2,000 bill but said that would only do it this one time. W

Anyone else bullied throughout childhood and teenage years and realize those experiences made a negative effect on the person you are today or have you been able to fully move past those series of events?
I was bullied from 1st grade through 12th by my peers inside of the school and others who were in my religion. Each year I was reminded how ugly and undesirable I was. Got picked on for my features and for being too smart I was a shy anxiety ridden child/teen and even though I've blossomed as an adult those negative comments are hard to shake off for me personally. I believe it's because the feelings of worthlessness were drilled into my being during the most impressionable years of my life. When people give me compliments today in person it's still hard to accept them and I'll quickly deflect them politely. It's hard for me to believe them because of past experiences. Although online there's a contrast because my whole page seeks validation from strangers. I've put myself down by calling myself names in my head and remind myself I'm not good enough. Here's where I'm at now at 41, actively combating those negative thoughts by doing positive affirmations that remind me of
