Entertainment expenses
Hey everyone I had a consultation last week with an attorney to file ch7. Havent signed their contract yet because they want the money right after so Im saving up currently. They did send me a big 56 page bankruptcy packet that I have to fill out with all the required info for them to successfully file for me. Im looking through the section that is called entertainment in my expense breakdown. I wasnt entirely sure what to put there so I put all the streaming services I have and I also added something my husband and I would do monthly like go to the movies and maybe out to eat once or twice a month. I also like to go to the book store here and there. Is $200 a month for entertainment too much for 2 people? I just dont want to get side eyed by the trustees. lol submitted by /u/vhaines2 [link] [comments]

As an accounting student, should I work part time to study full time, or the other way around?
I'm a 29 year old career changer with previous bachelors and masters and 5 YOE in another field. Think like social services and education type work. I'm changing careers to accounting. I have taken all but 33 credits of a bachelors in accounting at the state university up the road (AACSB accredited, Big 4 target). I have to take classes online, but I can make the 2hr trip for meet the firms and events like that. I have two options: Work part time at Walmart or Lowe's, enroll in my accounting program full time (3-4 classes per semester) and finish in a year. Work full time as a low level AP/AR/bookkeeper and study part time, finishing my degree in 1.5-2 years. I am honestly so tired of school. I just want to finish so I can begin studying for the CPA exams. I want to have my CPA by age 35. Plan is to apply to the small PA firms in my town and the next town (30 mins away) to work while I start the CPA prep, but usually they require a bachelors to be finished to hire.

Feeling guilty looking for a new job
So Ive been at this company for 3 years now as a division accountant. The people I work with are nice, boss is flexible which is great since I have a young kid. The problem is I have no room for growth there. They really are nice and pay decent and give good bonuses. But Im feeling stuck I guess. So Ive started looking for a new job but I feel so guilty. Is this normal? I know I need to look out for myself I just dont want to seem ungrateful for all that they do for me. Ill just be stuck at this position with no room for growth if I stay. The two people above me are young with no plans of leaving. submitted by /u/Cute-Quantity-7517 [link] [comments]

What careers does having the CPA help you pivot into?
Hello everyone! I am currently working towards getting mg CPA and will take my first exam (AUD) on Monday. While Im not entirely sure I want to stay in accounting, I appreciate the value and knowledge that comes with earning a CPA. I'm currently in public accounting, focusing mainly on audit, but I believe that I want to pivot out of accounting eventually. Im curious to hear from those who have their CPA and have transitioned into other industries. How has the certification helped you in fields not directly related to accounting? submitted by /u/Expensive-Ad8272 [link] [comments]

Careers after becoming a teller
Hi all, I am currently a teller at Wells Fargo and I really dislike it. Mostly because it's customer-facing. So my question is, what could my career path be? If I am starting as a teller but I don't want to work with people, what path/jobs could I apply for within Wells Fargo that aren't customer-facing? There may not even be options here but I thought I'd ask. Thank you! submitted by /u/carmenmae [link] [comments]
