Incentivizing dental services in healthy behaviour Medicaid waivers.
In the United States, adult dental benefits are optional in the state-managed, public insurance program, Medicaid. States also have the option to adapt their Medicaid program via waivers which pair healthy behaviour incentives (HBI) with cost-sharing. These waivers have proven ineffective, but the empirical evidence has ignored differences between states. This study aims to evaluate […] The post Incentivizing dental services in healthy behaviour Medicaid waivers. first appeared on Physician's Weekly .

What is the Efficient Proximate Cause Doctrine? Why Public Adjusters and Policyholders Should Care
The efficient proximate cause doctrine is a legal principle used to determine which among multiple contributing factors to a loss is the most significant or “efficient” cause that should be considered when deciding insurance coverage. Physical meaning of Zero-Point Energy
I know that a quantum system can never have 0 energy due the Uncertainty Principle, and its lowest energy is called the Zero point Energy. However, Energy is a relative quantity (atleast in classical mechanics). What is this zero point energy relative to? Why I calculate the energy for a harmonic oscillator, I don't seem to define a ground state, unlike mechanical problems, where I take potential energy to be 0 explicitly at or at some elevation. Without this chosen ground state, what is the physical significance of this energy?

If microwave ovens run at 2.4 GHz, what is the long-term effect on living tissue of exposure to this frequency, but with a thousand times less energy?
Indeed very low power el.mag. waves of 2.4 GHz can't cook anything, what contains water molecules, in a few minutes. That's clear. But what if some material with water content is exposed to these 2.4 GHz el.mag. waves for many hours every day..? Is there any chance of some, even slight, physical effect? Thank you in advance!

Comparing 2019 Ioniq and 2024 Ioniq 6: Hat tip to Hyundai engineers
We now have both a 2019 Ioniq and a 2024 Ioniq 6 SE (long range RWD). I compared the specs for the two models, and it is remarkable that the Ioniq 6 is 15 inches longer and weighs about 1,000 lbs more than the 2019 Ioniq, and yet the fuel economy for the Ioniq 6 is on par with that of the 2019 Ioniq. The extra weight is most likely from the larger battery in the Ioniq 6. Hat tip to the Hyundai engineers for making such an efficient car (and one that is very easy to drive). Energy conservation for a rolling rigid body
I came across this question where A solid cylindrical body of mass m and radius r rolls without slipping over a smooth inclined plane. Its initial velocity is v . What would be the maximum height attained by the body? The question seems simple, and so it is, but my answer didn't match. When I checked the solution, I got more confused. First, let me tell you my approach, and then the approach given in the solution. Let body climb till position B , at height h from initial position, on inclined plane from initial position A . At position A , body will have rolling kinetic energy and by conservation of energy, this rolling kinetic energy is converted into potential energy at position B . $$frac{1}{2}mv^2(1+frac{k^2}{r^2})=mgh$$ where k is radius of gyration. I solved this equation for conservation of energy. But it turns out this equation isn't correct. Here's approach given in solution. Since there's no friction, rotational kinetic energy won't chang
